Blow Down Valves

Operation

Installed downstream from the air-oil separator, the Blow Down Valve provides two functions:

  • At start up, the value closes to permit the air-oil separator pressure to build up.
  • At shut-down, when a pressure is applied, the valve opens to bleed the air-oil separator to atmosphere.

The blow down valve may also be used as a by-pass valve to bleed air through the compressor at start-up.

Design Features

  • TFE seats for long seal life.
  • Viton™ O-Rings, for lubricant compatibility.
  • No spring forces to overcome.
